    What: The goal of WhatToBuild is to collect and share ideas by integrating the real needs of Web3 users and the research directions of major ecosystems, creating an idea platform focused on the Web3 application layer. This platform aims to bring more developer attention to high-quality ideas.

    Why: Web3 users have long faced numerous pain points. As infrastructure continues to improve, more user experience issues can be optimized. Therefore, a platform is needed to collect these pain points and provide direction for developers. The Ethereum Foundation has consistently emphasized the importance of applications, and Web3 needs the next wave of groundbreaking on-chain products, as well as higher-quality application ideas.

    How:

    1. Build a GitHub repository where people can share their ideas.
    2. Collect ideas through activities such as ideathons and Twitter Spaces.
    3. Refine the product through ongoing activities and internal discussions, and launch an official platform (based on GitHub).
    4. Further expand influence by supporting hackathons and partnering with ecosystem collaborators.

Community Member Recruitment

As the project rapidly develops, we need more like-minded individuals to join us in driving the growth and implementation of WhatToBuild. Currently, the project is in the pod group stage with limited funding. However, we believe that through the collective efforts of the community, we can achieve greater breakthroughs. In the future, we will actively seek funding to ensure that every contributor receives appropriate incentives.

We Need:

  1. Community Managers:

    • Responsible for community management, planning, and organizing activities (e.g., ideathons, Twitter Spaces discussions).
    • Increase community engagement and expand project influence.
    • Prior experience in Web3 community management is preferred.

  2. Idea Contributors:

    • Share high-quality Web3 application ideas and participate in idea discussions and contributions.
    • Possess a deep understanding of the Web3 ecosystem and unique insights.

  3. Anyone Interested in the Project:
    Even if you don’t have the specific skills mentioned above, as long as you are passionate about WhatToBuild and Web3 applications and want to contribute, we welcome your participation!
