Proposal: Simplify Weekly Threads on the Forum

Initially, we encouraged posting weekly threads on the Forum for these reasons:

  1. Inform the community about upcoming meetings and invite participation.
  2. Facilitate ideas or discussions in the meeting thread.
  3. Enhance transparency within the community.

However, this practice has proven ineffective:

  1. Low engagement: No one actively uses or views these threads.
  2. Limited relevance: Working group meetings involve fixed members, with no new participants joining.

It also creates additional issues:

  1. Clutters the Forum: Important topics become hard to find due to the overwhelming number of weekly threads.
  2. Category misuse: Some threads are miscategorized, making the Forum structure look inconsistent.

  3. Increases workload: PMs must create weekly threads, which often boil down to copy-pasting repetitive content.

Proposal

To address these issues, I suggest the following:

  • Stop posting weekly threads for non-community calls.
  • Keep only the Community Call thread, such as LXDAO Community Call #136.
  • If anyone wants to share details of their meeting for the upcoming week, they can reply directly to the Community Call thread.
  • Change back to the previous forum layout and cleanup Weekly threads and unused categories.

This will streamline operations, reduce clutter, and ensure the Forum remains clean and functional.
