I think I’ll use him, I’m using him for the purpose of observing the activity of the different DAOs and the turnout, and I’d like to see what’s going on and what’s new in the forums of the different DAOs!
It looks like there are different products doing one of these types of things, here’s what I’ve gathered
DAO Categorisation https://deepdao.io/organizations
DAO Forum Analysis
DAO poll analysis
I think there are some questions that need to be asked about how the product is thinking about the data piece of governance
This is a type of DAO Tools that everyone like or need, but actually not many usages after it is online. Because DAO Gov isn’t a high-frequency action, no one would like to install a mobile and check proposals every day.
I remember we discussed before for building an app like this for Snapshot. And I believe Aragon, Snapshot, and DeepDAO might be more interested in building this type of tools.
But I got two ideas:
Web version or PWA version of this app, might reduce a lot of development costs
Build upon Farcaster, put DAO Gov in social apps (I prefer this one)
I’ve positioned this product as an efficiency tool, access to key information and efficient governance. It targets the following number of users:
DAO organizers, who want to publish announcements, events can be notified to all followers. It feels too bad to be forcefully notified from social media (wechat) every weekly meeting, but I can’t log out of the community chat group; I wish I could subscribe to all meetings from the community to my personal calendar, and be notified by the calendar of my meetings.
community members who have less time to follow the community, but don’t want to miss out on critical information. From my experience, I have to pay attention to the community chat group for a long time in order to be aware of the recent important matters of the community, but sometimes I can easily miss some meetings and events when I am too busy at work.
If a member needs to spend a lot of time to figure out the recent status of the community, it will be easier for the community to lose him.
people who haven’t been exposed to DAO and want to understand the diversity of the ecosystem.
people who want to have easy access to key DAO information and participate in governance on their cell phones, e.g. when they are outdoors, on their way to work, or on their way home.
I don’t think it’s a professional governance tool. There are and will be more useful governance tools that I hope can be integrated into this app.
I don’t think it is a professional data analysis tool, but there are a lot of in-depth analysis tools in the market now.
DAO is really open, but I believe many people don’t know how to get the DAO information they want to know faster and how to participate. So I want it to be a portal to the DAO, where you can quickly get key information, participate in activities, and participate in governance. I think it would be better in the form of a mobile app.
We have meeting notes for each WG and recent works, this should an efficient way of learning what’s new in the community. But I do agree we need to make them easier to access.
Seems the most important features are about the information, mobile app is just a way of getting those info easier? Therefore, I would suggest making a notion page or sort of web app for those KEY information first and verify if it could help the community or not. Then decide to develop an app or not.
My idea is to target all DAOs, not just LXDAO, so some features may not seem as useful as expected. Many DAOs don’t have that many tools that they are already familiar with.
